This Is Just So Wrong....

The Story:

An elementary school class started a class project to make planters to take home to their parents. They wanted to have a plant in it that was easy to take care of, so they decided to use cactus plants.

The students were given green-ware pottery planters in the shape of clowns which they painted with glaze.

The clown planters were professionally fired at a class outing so they could see the process..
It was great fun!

They planted cactus seeds in the finished planters and they grew nicely, but unfortunately, the children were not allowed to take them home.

The cactus plants were removed and small ivy replaced them and the children were then allowed to take them home instead.

The teacher said cactus seemed like a good idea at the time!!!!!!!!

Can Anyone Say "Ouch"?....
I don't have any book reviews ready to post... :P

Yes! That would have indeed been an interesting note to write although I'm sure some of the parents would have worded it much less eloquently than you! LOL

I know - I'm so bad! I have to admit, I like "cacti phallic in a clown"! LOL...

Awe the poor kids!! It did make a funny picture though!

I did something similar for my daughter's girl scout troop (yes I was the troop leader). The girls decorated reg. terracotta pots and planted pansies. We took them to the nursing home in town and let the girls deliver them.

I do feel kinda of bad for the brown clown on the right end... He looks like he knows they are going to take it from him!!! LMAO!!!!
I think I would have sent it home. The parents would have gotten a good laugh out of it!!! That is why I am not a teacher!!! lol!!
Hope you have a good night!

Hey EH:

Well at least they got to keep the clowns with a plant in it. I think even ivy growing out of those things would be weird looking. But hey - that is just me! lol

L

Hi Heather:

Good for you! I think our kids appreciate parental involvement in their extracurricular activities. ;)

I'm still shaking my head about the project pictured here though! yikes...
